Pat Paul Band – Admiral/Paul (2018)

Covering the roughly year and a half period from Summer 2007 to early 2009 when the Admiral had the privilege of moonlighting as The Pat Paul Band, represented on the PPB album “Sock Happens.” The vibe is more straight ahead rock and roll, buoyed by the Admiral’s maniacal low-end and rhythmic drive. This remixed and remastered release differs considerably from the original release by focusing on only the tracks featuring Admiral Browning, augmenting it with live tracks that were gigged – but not recorded – by the full band, bootlegged from the live debut of the trio configuration of the Pat Paul Band, and giving a more complete picture of that period.

Magic Elixir (2009) – DSR-016

Interview with Heavy Metal Mark (Heavy Metal Time Machine)
“The arrangements could have been concocted by a Indie supergroup featuring members of Don Caballero and Sleep…Magic Elixir is a small package to shoehorn all this into, but it sure whets the appetite for the upcoming full-length.” – Shawn Macomber/Decibel, Dec 2009 issue 62
“An adventurous EP amusingly packaged to evoke turn-of-the-century cure-all liniment, Maryland-based Admiral Browning sort of defies categorization, in a good way.” – Jim Cirile, Progression Magazine Issue 57

Dead Pets (2007) – DSR-015

“A lot of so-called “Viking Metal” bands are all humorless gloom, but as the underrated Terry Jones film Erik the Viking makes clear, there was righteous humor and heart among the men of the north. Admiral Browning are that kind of Viking Metal.” – Shragge @ Peacedogman.com (via archive.org)
“… I must say, that along with a few others (5ive, Zebulon Pike, etc.), Admiral Browning is starting to figure this new wave of instrumental metal thing out. Here’s to those riffs and for them slowly reforming my opinion on one of metal’s currently en vogue genres.” – Ian Chainey @ Metalreview.com (via archive.org)
